Samsung SmartThings

So, after years with AlertMe, watching British Gas take and relaunch the product and years of waiting for anything to happen, I've given up on AlertMe/British Gas/Hive. I've just purchased Samsung SmartThings and it's great. A little buggy at times but nothing live chat support hasn't helped me sort...

Panasonic Smart Home

Here's another system that looks very AlertMe...

http://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer/smart-home/

Having looked into this and also Samsung SmartThings, I think I might buy into the Panasonic option. £129 for the hub and two sensors, looks good to start with.

Re: New Hive 2

I like the look of the SwannOne, it does look very AlertMe. With British Gas backing I'm sure the 'new' Hive system will do very well, it's just a shame they're making this all look like a new system when it's something we've had for years. I'll be interested to see the SwannOne pricing and also whe...

Re: New Hive 2

This was the obvious route for Hive, and I'm glad they've finally integrated the systems. It puzzles me as to why it's taken so long and why they aren't introducing everything else that was in the old British Gas system, such as external siren and smoke alarm. There is a huge gap in the market for a...

Hive by British Gas

I see that British Gas have rebranded their Remote Heating Control as Hive Active Heating... https://www.hivehome.com/ It now controls hot water as well as heating (not sure how though) as it says your install needs a single thermostat. I wonder whether the Safe and Secure system will also be moved ...

An AlertMe alternative

Have just come across what could be an AlertMe alternative... http://www.responseelectronics.com/burglar-alarms-c8/miguard-c36 It's launching under the MiGuard brand in the UK very soon and is created by a company called Chuango Security (Response are UK distributor). There's a lot more information ...

Re: AlertMe given up on Home Monitoring

That leaves us lot in the UK with two problems. First of all, British Gas. They've really not gone all-out like Lowe's have, so we're left with their more limited implementation of the system. I'd love to get my hands on an Iris system to play with and see how well it works in this country. This is...

Re: AlertMe given up on Home Monitoring

I've spoken to them today, and the reason they aren't offering it is because British Gas offer their product as Safe & Secure (which makes sense). They have also now admitted that some accessories will work with the AlertMe hub. Here's the response... We will still continue to support the Smart Moni...

AlertMe given up on Home Monitoring

So it looks like AlertMe have finally given up on Home Monitoring. It's no longer available to purchase on their shop, and they're no longer selling the accessories either. This is such a shame from a company that showed so much potential a few years ago, it looks like they've just sold themselves t...

Re: AlertMe planning new features?

Well I've just spoken to AlertMe and they say these features are only available to partners not to customers. They have also just said there are no plans to release the new SmartMonitoring interface. I have no issue with them working with partners, I just wish a UK partner would release a product th...

AlertMe planning new features?

I have been having a look around the new AlertMe website and came across this in the home monitoring section, none of which was mentioned on their old site. Perhaps new features and products are being planned, they're just not letting on yet... https://www.alertme.com/how-we-do-it/products-and-servi...

Also, Coops...

Is there anything you've found (other than the camera) that the AlertMe system can do that the S&S system can't?

Can you set up the same sort of alerts etc for the sensors that kind of thing?

Re: British Gas - Safe & Secure

This is good news that you can use the existing AlertMe accessories with the Safe and Secure system. I have been wondering whether it is best to move to the S&S product since AlertMe's lack of innovation, yet they partner with Lowes and British Gas and release new and improved products etc. Final st...

Re: Lowe's AlertMe System

It's not so much the cost (even though I certainly wouldn't pay £200) it's the fact that they've made a completely separate system for the heating. British Gas have said that the heating system will work with their Safe & Secure system soon, unfortunately AlertMe aren't saying the same. I had a watc...

Re: Major problems at AlertMe

Hate to say it but I don't think AlertMe care any more about their customers. The time on my display has been an hour fast since the clock change and despite me contacting AlertMe a number of times, they're still 'working on a fix' for the issue. I have to have the timezone on my hub at +1 so the ti...

Tiscali take over

Whilst I know that Mary Turner was appointed CEO and came from Tiscali, I didn't know she'd bought her Tiscali friends with her! I was just reading the management team page of the AlertMe site and saw these: Mary Turner - Chief Executive Officer Mary Turner was appointed CEO of AlertMe.com Ltd in Fe...

Re: Major problems at AlertMe

I spoke to AlertMe today on their online chat and they have put messages out on Facebook and Twitter.

They are aware and are working on the problem, but this isn't very good at all.

I wonder if this is affecting British Gas Safe & Secure.

Major problems at AlertMe

Since Monday night I have been getting constant emails saying that my hub is offline throughout the night. I contacted AlertMe today and they have said t...

Did AlertMe put their clocks forward?

I notice today that my arm and disarm times are an hour behind.

After speaking to AlertMe regarding times in the past, I believe this time is from the AlertMe server (not the hub).

Has anyone else got this issue? Have AlertMe forgot to put the clocks forward?

I'm having data issues here too, AlertMe say as above, there's a problem and it's being worked on. The online dashboard is slow to update. My home display says around 30p of usage right now, yet my online dashboard is sitting at 2p. As this is a main feature of the AlertMe system, I'm very surprised...

I've had a look around AlertMe's and British Gas's websites, and it seems like British Gas are getting the stu...
