As I feared - nothing. I don't think the guy knew anything, though what he actually did I'll never know.

But the bottom line seems to be that you CAN'T order spares from the British Gas number above.....

Yes they did - finally. I raised a support ticket on Sunday Mar 25th, and they replied that they had 'technical issues'. It was still wrong a few days ago but I checked my display just now and it is correct, so I believe they have recently corrected their servers. Hopefully yours will update soon.
