AlertMe Forum Marketplace

Thought I'd start a Marketplace forum in case people would like to buy / sell AlertMe equipment privately. Please begin your posts with 'Wanted:', 'For Sale:', etc, but please change these if you've found what you're after or sold your equipment. Posts in this forum will expire automatically after 2...

Attracting Users

Seeing as the old forum may well be out of reach for many now, does anyone have any suggestions as to where we could publicise ourselves to other AlertMe users? We are climbing the Google rankings, but it'll take a bit more time and content before that's a reliable way people reaching us. I've been ...

Re: Going back to original security system!

And nope, I've not contact PB, anyone else? No, but I think it's a good idea. It was his startup, after all - and he's still involved (although in what day-to-day capacity, we don't know). Also, if you visit his website , take a look at the videos about AlertMe. There are some brief images of the h...

Re: Watch AlertMe Signups

That is interesting - could you post the link, as the one I'm using doesn't show me anything like that.

Re: Going back to original security system!

..."hope to release an updated monitoring user interface in the early part of next year." How many times have we heard this. Honestly? Do they think we never compare notes? The two most annoying lines from AlertMe for me are: "Hope to release..." "This is something we are looking into..." That's pr...

Re: CR2 Batteries

I bought a bagful from eBay because I found getting them at a decent price was tricky. They have all worked perfectly so far.

Re: Going back to original security system!

Wow. Okay, that's interesting. Looks like a new hub of some description, plus a whole bunch of new sensors - it will likely be the same equipment largely repackaged, but there's certainly been some work put into it. Except for the black keyfobs, no effort put in there. ;) I'm not surprised, given th...

Re: Going back to original security system!

I believe that AlertMe will be completely absorbed into British Gas at some point too. That is a concern, as Mary Turner has a history of using mergers and acquisitions to grow companies; not that this is necessarily a bad thing, but there has been a very definite shift in focus of AlertMe since sh...

Re: Welcome to the AlertMe Users' Forum!

Thanks for setting up the forum. The official one wasn't very user friendly, I preferred their original forum that was setup ages back. No problem! Hope it gets some users and becomes a handy place to visit. :) Yes, I vaguely remember they used a different forum at one point... That replacement was...

AlertMePI - The Perl interface to AlertMe

------------------------- AlertMePI v2.06 on GitHub ------------------------- This has been mentioned before, but if you want a bit more control over your system and are comfortable on the command line, I wrote AlertMePI some time ago. It has been through some minor revisions, but I still use it fre...
