Re: AlertMe have been in contact!
I am using the SmartThings Hub with some a combination of ST sensors and HIve parts supplied by AlertMe/ Hive. 1 have 4 Hive active bulbs supplied very recently, one of which has #already failed#. It is in an overhead light fitting which take 3 bulbs all controlled by a single wall switch which has ...

Re: AlertMe have been in contact!
Matt, I understand that they only have 2 support staff handling all of the transition from AlertMe to Hive, and at times email replies can take a few days, then suddenly speed up. I hope you hear something soon. Once I did get in touch they were incredibly helpful, offering me various options in pla...

Re: AlertMe have been in contact!
I was lucky today, Maplin Electronics has the Samsung gear on sale at the prices that PCWorld we’re charging earlier, which was a sale apparently. Maplin has lots of home automation stuff on display, but Samsung SmartThings at all on their displays, so it looks like they are just selling old stock a...

Re: Smart things
Just to say that as it stands ZIgBee on the Samsung SmartThings Hub does not pair with AlertMe ZigBee sensors. Once the AlertMe server is switched off at the end of this month all of my AlertMe hardware will be offered for sale to anyone that has a use for them. I understand that some are interested...

Re: AlertMe have been in contact!
I got the SmartThings hub and starter kit last week. I went back to buy more sensors etc and the price of everything has jumped up 30% @#&! Seems PC World have a monopoly, the price on Samsung store and Amazon are the same. Cartel? Reason for writing is, I have all those sensors and smartplugs etc...

Re: Smart things
The ST hub does use ZigBee, all the devices they supply with the Hub are ZigBee. It also has Z-Wave for the EU frequency, but I don’t have any devices that use that yet to try.
I will try resetting an old AlertMe device and see if it will pair with my Samsung SmartThing Hub.

Re: Alertme been in contact!
Just a thought, as the Samsung SmartThings Hub does ZigBee (and Z-Wave for EU frequencies), is it possible in theory to use the AlertMe ZigBee sensors with the ST Hub? All the blurb from the ZigBee alliance stresses the interoperability of ZigBee as a feature, so what is to stop it from working? I c...

Re: Alertme been in contact!
I got a reply from AlertMe and apparently the credit has no actual monetary value and that is in the small print. I will certainly advertise my AlertMe hardware on this forum once it stops working. I have quite a lot of kit. The Hive stuff less the thermostat that I am not getting will also be avail...

Re: The Alerty App
Thanks for all that. After due consideration I have decided to cut my losses and ditch the AlertMe hardware, as I doubt any of it will be useful after the cutoff date. I don’t even think it could be sold on eBay, though it is amazing what useless junk people will buy there ;) I don’t plan to use Hiv...

Re: Alertme been in contact!
Incidentally how do I get my credit balance back? which amounts to about £135 currently!
The credit is for the unused top up to the phone card.

Re: The Alerty App
Thank you for Alerty, it works with iOS 11 too unlike the AlertMe app
Is this Safe and Secure still available? If so it might be the answer for me with my otherwise orphaned AlertMe gear.

Re: Alertme been in contact!
I am not interested in their Thermostat, I already have a nice wireless thermostat with programmer which meets my needs and does not rely on an internet connection. I asked Hive if they could provide more sensors in place of the thermostat and they said yes, basically one more motion sensor was incl...

Re: The End is Nigh
I also got the email, but am very unsure that it is a good offer that meets my requirements. I had previously contacted them to say I had no interest in the boiler part of the Hive system. They then offered a sensor pack instead. Here is part of my reply to them today. Thank you for the reply. I und...
